Nearpod: What's New in Nearpod 2021-22

 



Nearpod has some new features to enhance the learning experience!

*All content slides now work with Immersive Reader, so any content slide can be read aloud and/or translated for students.

*Now you can switch from Teacher-led (Live participation) to Student-paced at anytime throughout the presentation. This will allow for teachers to give direct instruction, then continue the presentation as students work independently or in centers.

*Drag and Drop is now an activity feature in Nearpod. See slide 7 in the  new features slides linked below for details on how to create a Drag and Drop activity in Nearpod.

Using i-Ready Lexile Levels in Raz-Plus

Now that beginning of the year i-Ready testing is wrapping up, it may be helpful to know your student's lexile level based on the student's testing.

Be Prepared for Anything! Setting up Canvas for an Unexpected Absence

 Just as we did last year, teachers will need to add additional staff to their Canvas course(s) in case of sudden absence.

  • Teachers should add all building Permanent Subs.
  • You may also add Resource teachers and Reading/Math Specialists as needed.

It may also be beneficial to have some emergency sub plans available. They can be imported directly into your Canvas course. Then just fill in the blanks. A screenshot of one is below:



Log into Canvas and click the links below to access the modules and copy the content that you'd like or go to Commons and import the entire Module.

Fossweb is now THINK LINK and can be accessed through CLEVER

 Grades 3 and 4 Science (ThinkLink):

What you need to know:

  • Fossweb.com is going to be expiring. The textbook company has a new platform titled "ThinkLink".
  • If you log into Fossweb.com, you will no longer have access to any of the resources.
  • Log into CLEVER, then click on "ThinkLink."
  • ThinkLink requires each teacher to add each unit textbook (known as modules) to a class.
